The classes are designed for anglers wishing to increase the skills and knowledge that apply to the sport of bass fishing. Minimum age for enrollment, 12 years of age.
The classes have been scheduled and designed to expose students to a variety of seasonal patterns that ocurr throughout the year.
Bait fish begin their migration toward the creeks. Using your electronics to locate them is paramount. The Thermocline begins to break up and oxygen levels can vary. These factors will often scatter the fish. Isolated cover can be extremely important at this time of year. However, fish can be found in a wide variety depths. Glide baits, Buzzbaits, Horney Toads, Ploppers, Square Bills, Chattterbaits, Light Jigs and Shakey Heads are now in play. Proper use of these baits will be key to catching more fish.
Students will learn how to select the proper equipment and line for these baits and patterns.
Students will learn important information about equipment preparation, fish care, sound conservation practices, on the water safety, boat control and positioning, electronics and much more.
Students will report to class on day 1 and immediately be evaluated on knowledge and skills. Then placed in appropriate groups to maximize their learning experience.
Students will be provided rods, reels, line, lures needed and specific to the time of year.
Students will be responsible for the appropriate clothing and outerwear needed. Life preservers provided, however you may bring your own.
Each student will spend four (4) hours in a classroom environment each day with experienced instructors going over information and developing skills needed. They will then spend four (4) hours on the water with an instructor applying and developing those skills.
During the on the water time period each day, there will be 2 students per instructor allowing time for one on one instruction and skill development.
